The 4th Annual Officer Jayme Beindl 5K Memorial Walk/ Run will be held January 25, 2015, and starts at 10 A.M.  The 1st Annual Officer Jayme Beindl Memorial walk/run.  The 1st annual walk/ run was held on the one year anniversary of Jayme’s death to honor her memory.  Jayme was a corrections officer at WSR who was killed in the line of duty.

The run has become a community wide event with Monroe Police Department, City of Monroe, Department of Corrections, and Behind the Badge Foundation organizing the event.

There are many volunteer groups that have donated their time and services to make this a successful event.  Each year the run has expanded and last year the Monroe High School drum band played at the finish line.  Also, the Soup Ladies served hot soup at the end of the walk/run last year.

Officer Biendl's family has participated in the run/walk every year.  At the family’s  request any proceeds from the run will be donated to the Behind The Badge Foundation.  Behind the Badge Foundation provides comprehensive support to Washington state’s law enforcement agencies, families and communities after a line of duty death or when an officer suffers a serious injury.
