Kevin Teague was recently appointed as the City of Monroe’s Parks & Recreation Director, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in parks planning, design, and leadership. Most recently, Kevin served as the Deputy Director of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for the City of Sammamish, where he oversaw major capital projects, park development, and community recreation initiatives. A licensed landscape architect and LEED-accredited professional, Kevin has spent his career helping communities create and sustain vibrant parks and public spaces. Beyond his professional work, Kevin has called Monroe home for over 30 years. He has been actively involved in the community through volunteer service, coaching youth sports, and supporting local nonprofits. Kevin is passionate about using his experience and local connections to enhance Monroe’s parks system and recreation programs. Mike Thomas
Mike Thomas is a graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Kinesiology and a K-12 Physical Education & Health Endorsement. He has worked in a variety of fields, including teaching, coaching, construction, municipal utilities, and has spent the last ten years with the Monroe Parks & Recreation Department. During his time with the City, Mike has served as a maintenance worker for two years, lead for five, and currently as a supervisor for the past three years. Living just outside of Monroe and raising a young family, Mike is passionate about giving back to the community he calls home. He has gained a deep appreciation for the vital role parks and recreation play in fostering healthy, connected communities. Mike is dedicated to creating safe, welcoming spaces where residents can come together to support their physical, emotional, and social well-being. From pulling weeds to helping build departmental budgets, Mike has participated in most aspects of the Parks & Recreation Department’s work. He feels honored to help maintain Monroe’s beautiful park system and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community daily while working to enhance recreational opportunities for everyone. |

The weekly lunch meetings of the Rotary Club of Monroe are held every Wednesday from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at El Paraiso Restaurant.
A typical meeting begins with members gathering a few minutes before noon for social networking before sitting down for lunch. During lunch, there may be committee reports and a speaker selected to keep Rotarians informed about the community and the issues of our community. The purpose of these weekly meetings is to develop both strong ties between Rotarians and opportunities for service locally and around the world. Rotarians from other clubs are always welcome.
